Black Lines • Painted painters Jacket in cotton duck, stiff and sculptural, this jacket has extra volume in the back piece to create a triangular silhouette, but otherwise is boxy, the fabric sturdy, and will soften and loosen over time. The black Lines are painted once the fabric has been cut from the pattern. Each stroke is mechanical yet still with the mark of the maker, and made using a brush and Indian ink. The fabric is then washed as separate pieces, the black lines becoming integral to the cloth. Although the ink is somewhat lightfast, the lines will change and fade over time, creating an unique garment with a narrative of its own. Made to order in York by Rebecca Carr.
